How to dissolve polygons and aggregate their data in QGIS

I am looking for a tool in QGIS 2.40 that performs the function ArcGIS refers to as Aggregate Polygons.Basically it takes a group of polygons within a specified distance and creates a concave hull around them (QGIS expression edition) In the past, aggregating field values was reserved to databases, virtual layers, or dedicated plugins, but since QGIS 2.16, there is a way to compute aggregates directly in QGIS expressions. This means that we can compute sums, means, counts, minimum and maximum values and more Geometry properties displays Polygons and multipolygons may not contain any holes and Multipart objects must consist of more than one part. Geometry conditions: user can add some condition to validate the geometries with a minimal segment length, a minimum angle between segment, a minimal polygon area and sliver polygons detection

You describe the feature as aggregate_relation but in QGIS 2.16 or 2.18 the feature is listed as relation_aggregate. I'm using this syntax: relation_aggregate(relation := 'tubo_et_face_et_inicial', aggregate := 'sum', expression := compr_linear) to try to sum up all the values in the compr_linear field of the child table, to a virtual field in the parent table. Is this syntax correct, or am I doing something wrong Combines polygons within a specified distance of each other into new polygons. Illustration Usage. This tool is intended for moderate scale reduction and aggregation when input features can no longer be represented individually due to the limited map space or the required data resolution. Aggregation will only happen where two polygon boundaries are within the specified aggregation distance to each other. There will be no self-aggregation, meaning no aggregation within an input polygon.

Advanced Aggregate Expressions to Automate QA in QGIS

This PR adds a collect geometry method to the aggregate() function to allow for the creation a multipart geometry representing the sum of aggregated geometries. This opens the door to all sorts of interesting expression-based geometry manipulation and checks / rules. For e.g., creating a rule-based symbology that highlights in green concessions (i.e. polygons) intersecting a flight path: the rule used to color the polygons in green is: intersects($geometry,aggregate('flight_path. Description ¶. Adds the specified field of the polygons layer to the attribute table of the points layer. The new attributes added for each point depend on the value of the background polygon layer

This is an update to previous videos about counting points in polygons with QGIS Calculating volumes of earth, aggregate or holes over varying terrain is a challenging mathematical task that can have a huge impact on project budgets or predicted revenue. It is a relatively simple process that can be performed with free and open source software in a few simple steps. All that is required is elevation data from LiDAR or UAV photogrammetry in the form of point clouds which can then be converted into a Digital Elevation Model (DEM)/Digital Surface Model (DSM) as per thi

I have a .shp file which contains polygons each of them representing one building. I would like to extract the x and y coordinates of each polygon as a row to a .csv file. I could creat corner of polygons in points but I do not know how to extract points of each polygon separately as a row to .csv file. Below is a picture of what I have done so. I have defined a polygon field in ODK collect with 15,999 characters. It seems to work well regarding the collection of polygon data. But the challenge now is to retrieve it from Aggregate. I tried export to CSV, KML and JSON and tried to load it into QGIS. I tried downloading with Briefcase and see how to convert it to a GIS format. I also tried Mobile Data Conversion Kit from GeoODK, but this also seems to bug... (never ending processing...) I also set up a connection with. In QGIS, you can convert lines to polygons, points to polygons, or anything in between. In ArcMap, it completely depends on the task. You may need an advanced license for data conversion. QGIS has some pretty cool generalization tools too. These are used to simplify lines, aggregate points and polygons, and more

What are travel time polygons? Travel time polygons or isochrones show the area that is reachable from a starting point in a given amount of time, for a certain method of transport. Polygons are 2D shapes consisting of five or more vertices. The three providers covered here all offer travel time polygon drawing services in a GIS environment. We'll now have a look at some travel time isochrones and different product features for each solution provider (Polygons) yes | yes Allows to compute landscape or patch metrics for each polygon feature of an input vector layer. Results can be generated as new separate table or added to attribute table of the vector layer. Overlay vector metrics (Polygons) yes | no Can calculate basic metrics for attribute derived classes inside a polygon vector layer. Query raster values (Points) no | yes Returns all. This is a the command QGIS uses to create the clip. QGIS is actually calling GDAL to perform this operation. This command line will be very useful when you are planning to use Python or other scripting languages to perform an operation many times. You can do it by hand once and copy the command executed by QGIS and use it to create an iterable version...more on this later

The QGIS virtual layers feature (Layer menu | Add Layer | Add/Edit Virtual Layer) provides database capabilities without us having to actually set up a database *win!* Using a classic SQL query, we can join state polygons and migration flows into a new virtual layer: The resulting virtual layer contains 72 polygon features. There are 8 copies of each state Setting the aggregation options as described above and then clicking the create map layer button results in a new map layer, but instead of a point (or square) in the new map layer for every record in the input spreadsheet, you only get one single polygon at each cell of the specified grid where a record occurs. The cell is represented by either a square or a circle depending on the value you.
